Saab Goes Solo

The Swedish courts have approved the Saab application to enter a reorganisation process in a move to survive the encomical down turn without its parent company GM.
GM bought half of Saab in 1989 and then took full control of the company in the late 90's, however now GM are keen to sell off the company which has not made a profit for the last 7 years. Jan Ake Jonsson, Saab's managing director has reportly said there has already been interest from other companies to buy into the brand but he refuses to mention any names.

I think its great news for Saab, GM has been in trouble for years and maybe this is a good way of minimzing damage from the recession. We all know the car industry is suffering the most from the downturn, I wonder who will be left at the end?
